Happy Winter Solstice

Happy Winter Solstice!
Warning: This post if full of clause errors, in honor of Christmas.

I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks, sorry about that. I have been in this weird mental limbo, and I can’t seem to focus on anything except maybe Netflix. I have almost finished three seasons of Downton Abbey. Binge. Binge. Binge.

Happy Winter Solstice Messy MoneyIt’s what I do. 2015 will be about finding balance. I am a notorious binger. I can’t do anything “a little bit.” I have to take it to the level of crazy.

Winter Solstice is approaching this weekend for those of us in the northern hemisphere. It means the longest night of the year but also the return of the light. Each day we will gain a few minutes of daylight! I love watching the days grow longer.

I will be sure to make myself a tea, turn on the fireplace and burn an imaginary Yule log while giving thanks for a wonderful year and making plans for the next.

Thank you to everyone for your support this year. Blogging has been full of surprises for me and I learn something new every time I log in. I am working on building a blog roll, you can see it over there on the side ————————————————————-> It is a work in progress and has crashed my site a few times (LOL!) so hope to add more to the list once I have the technical bugs worked out.

Enjoyed thoroughly Birkin Bags are Stupid. Period. from Club Thrifty. You will want to have some popcorn ready before diving into the 124 comments. This post struck a nerve with some folks.  Handbag rage.

Debts Debs? I miss her. Prudence DebtFree shares an update on Deb’s whereabouts. While you are there, I would recommend stopping to listen to Prudence’s podcast message for some inspiration.

Activity will likely be a little sporadic around Messy Money until the New Year. I have scribbled notes for future posts, so provided I can read my handwriting, I will be back with a bang in January.

Until then all the best to you and yours! Wishing you a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. Oh, and Happy Winter Solstice!

  2. Thank you for mentioning my post & podcast, May. Too bad my comments still aren’t working! I still plan to get the comments about Debt Debs out to her – but not until everyone has had a chance to leave one. Balance is exactly what I’m after in the New Year too. As for Downton Abbey, if you love it, let me recommend the 6-part Pride and Prejudice from 1995. I received the remastered version for Christmas : ) It will join my old VHS set as well as the original DVD – and will likely be as well loved and watched. All the best for 2015!

    1. I tried to leave a comment on your post so maybe it is working now? WordPress can be difficult. My site went down a few times in December because of plugins I loaded.
I will look on netflix and see if Pride and Prejudice is there… sounds like my cup of tea.
      Happy New Year!

  3. Solstices are such a great time to focus on change….the stars are in your favor! Thanks for including me on your blogroll! Which is amazing, by the way. Mine runs on feeds, too, but it’s not nearly as thorough. Love it!

  4. Love that you don’t do anything halfway! You’re like a lot of us in that regard, and that’s what makes you readable and lovable. Wishing you a holiday filled with proper binges, hot tea, and handwriting good enough to give us some great posts in 2015.
