Net Worth Update October 2015

Here is our net worth update as of October 2, 2015. Our market losses this month have been offset with debt reduction. I would much rather be putting more into our savings but dear husband is not happy with that approach so we are in a bit of a standoff.

You may have noticed that I have been offline lately. That is because work is killing me. I do not deal well with displays of emotion and lately it feels like I have to deal with an inordinate amount of crying at work – my own and my coworkers.

I expect my posting and online activity to be sporadic until the end of February and you may see some off topic posts here.

Here is my update – and we have some catching up to do if I want to reach our 2015 goal. T-dah!

*Does not include cars, pension (!), our pantry stockpile, education savings, the change and small bills stuffed in my underwear drawer etc.

You can find my net worth and a gaggle of other bloggers over at the Rock Star Finance Ultimate List.  See – I am not the only person crazy enough to do this.

Sorry to post and run….. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. With how the markets have been lately, I’d pay off debt. Guaranteed return. I’d only change my answer if I had uncertainty up ahead. Does this crying at work make you want to lash out irrationally, causing you to quit or get yourself fired? If yes, stash some cash. Otherwise, full steam ahead!

    1. Oh yes I would like to lash out at work. Dance on a desk, walk out on meetings, tell people what I really think. I am not to that point yet – for now I just fantasize about doing those

    1. Still have not found the right balance but I am sure we will find a middle ground. I want to save more, he wants to pay off the house. We are both right. Appreciate you stopping by.

  2. Positive gain over negative is always good!

Sorry to hear work is tough and tears are being shed. Hope it gets better!

    1. Thanks EL. Appreciate you stoppping by. I enjoyed your post on personal finance contradictions. Wondering if maybe I am one myself… lol

  3. Hey May, at least you still have your sense of humor! 😀 Your update is inspiring, as always! Take it easy and I’ll be praying for you to be able to slow down and smell the roses. Or the carnations. Or whatever flowers you find most fragrant. Happy Weekend! 🙂

    1. Thanks Kay. I look forward to more of your minimalism updates. Many people are struggling with too much stuff in their lives. You are an inspiration.

    1. Thanks Brian. It was close -it could have been much worse I guess. The joys of the stock market.
